Baked Beans

Ingredients:
black eyed peas, tomato sauce, brown sugar, red wine vinegar, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, ground red pepper
To a sauce pan, add one can of black eyed peas (drained), and one can of tomato sauce. Add a quarter cup of brown sugar and two tablespoons of red wine vinegar, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and ground red pepper (to taste). Simmer until heated through and beans are tender.

brown sugar
Brown sugar is simply sugar with molasses mixed in.
Valid substitutions:
) White sugar with a tablespoon of water. Without the water, the recipe may be dryer than normal.
) White sugar with 1.5 tablespoons of a liquid sweetener (molasses, honey, or even maple syrup).
red wine vinegar
one part vinegar to three parts red wine
balsalmic vinegar (may need to be watered down to adjust sweetness)
rice vinegar (may need to be increased to adjust sweetness)
