I am Sandra Calvert and I am running for Owen County Council, District 1. I have been a

resident of Montgomery Township in Owen County for almost 27 years. I have four children,

two of which were raised in Owen County. Two of my grandchildren were also raised in Owen

County.

Treasurer for Owen County Democratic Party

I worked as a legal assistant and a paralegal for approximately 34 years. I retired from

Speedway after 11 years of service, 3 of which were as store manager.

I believe in total transparency and feel that the people who vote candidates into office, should

be able to make contact with their elected officials. They work for the residents of Owen

County and the residents of Owen County should be able to contact them.

I am running for County Council because there have been some financial decisions that I have

not completely agreed with and would like to be able to provide my vote against these types of

expenditures. One of these expenditures is the cost of the property for the new jail.
