Policies Ideas and Positions
I strongly believe in communication and transparency. Constituent service is a top priority. I welcome whatever county government business comes my way and strive to respond in a respectful and professional manner. I also field a lot of questions and help on things beyond my role as a council member, but I am happy to do so because it’s about public service and helping others.

About
This election cycle, I reaffirmed my public service commitment by filing as a candidate for Owen County Council District Two. This line of work has been quite an experience, and I am very thankful to have served in this position for many years.
My engagement has involved a lot of projects and challenges, and we are definitely not short of those moving forward. Although I can be a bit overly optimistic at times and, I enjoy what I do, that does not mean it's easy. County government is complex, dynamic, and difficult to understand. We will never run out of problems, and we will never have enough resources, but it is very easy to get tripped up on the “now” and end up not spending enough time on longer-term solutions. We should always do our best to combat that. Teamwork is key. I’m just one of over a hundred capable hard-working county government officials who have different roles in county government, but we all work for Owen County.

Matching up the nearly unlimited demand for services with a very limited pool of resources takes patience and creativity. Being fiscally responsible and prudent helps ensure long term sustainability. My extensive budget familiarity, understanding of public finance, and knowledge of processes, are very valuable. Voluntary continuing education is something I seek and take advantage of.
Beyond Owen County, I have worked with many local, county, state, and federal officials to tackle issues relating to county government. A lot of what we can or cannot do is dictated by laws set by the State of Indiana. My legislative advocacy work is constant and helps develop long-term solutions we need.
With your help, I hope to continue my service to you, Owen County, and our state. I very much appreciate and thank you for your support.
