Phillip
About
Phillip was born in Columbus, Indiana and raised in the Unionville - Bloomington area. He lived much of his life in different places, earning his associates degree in psychology along the way, but returned to his Hoosier roots in February 2023. Upon arrival, he immediately got to work in the community, garnering a volunteer of the year award in less than 12 months. This dedication to community service can be seen throughout Phillip's life: working for 211 service in Tippicanoe County, being on the Environmental Action Committee in Dunedin, Florida, regularly being a "Power Red" blood donor with the Red Cross, and even organizing and accomplishing a chicken ordinance for the city of Clearwater Florida.
He is also empathetic to the different challenges members of our community face each day, because he experienced poverty and food scarcity first hand. One prominent childhood memory was of looking in grocery store dumpsters for the family Thanksgiving dinner. Experiences like this shape and inspire who he is today.
One thing about Phillip is abundantly clear, wherever he goes, he gets involved, seeks solutions and gives back!
